Paul Taylor - Vicar (church leader)

Paul has led churches in Basingstoke and Salisbury before coming to lead St Matthew’s in 2018.

Paul was originally a building surveyor and still enjoys DIY, especially demolition! He is married to Lynn and they both love Worthing, for the local people who are so welcoming, the South Downs walking, and the sea where Paul can be seen falling off his paddle board!

Neill Stannard - Curate

Neill is passionate about mission and evangelism and prior to ordination worked in boarding schools as a housemaster, director of rugby and head of theology.

Neill played rugby for thirty years, coached for twenty and is a huge Saracens fan. He can be found most mornings walking the coast or the Downs with his German Shepherd reflecting on finer points of theology or thinking about the England team sheet. He is married to Kirsty and has three children.

Neill loves Worthing, for the local people, cafes, bars and the beach.

Clive Latter - Youth Worker

Clive arrived at St Matthew’s in 2014 and heads up all things youth and children.

He is married to Kate and together they have a little girl who is taking them through the ups and downs of parenting a toddler!

He has a passion for sport and is an avid Spurs supporter despite the many frustrations that brings.

Clive says the best things about Worthing are the relaxed pace of life and its friendly, welcoming community feel.

Sam Buck - Assistant Minister

Sam is part of our ministry team as he trains for ordination in the Church of England.

He enjoys running, drumming and reading, but can easily get lost in the world of Netflix boxsets. He is married to Amy and they have two girls under the age of 4.

Sam says the best things about Worthing are the regular family friendly activities and how it’s so easy to get into nature.

Karen Laker - Parish Administrator

Karen is our church Administrator. She owns a Bull Terrier who is as mad as a box of frogs and enjoys flying model helicopters, gliders & quads, as well as being a keen biker.

Karen says that the best things about living in Worthing are the beach & the South Downs plus her lovely church family & friends.
